Strategic Preparedness Planning
The Heartland Centers (HC) is able to provide a full range of bioterrorism and all hazard preparedness technical advisory services and activities to:
- State, local, and federal public health agencies
- Emergency management and law enforcement agencies
- Hospitals and businesses
- Community based preparedness organizations/groups
The HC has expertise in the following areas:
- Bioterrorism and all hazard preparedness education and training
- On-site exercise and/or technology mediated simulation training design, development, facilitation and evaluation
- Strategic preparedness planning
- Crisis leadership development
- NIMS/ICS
- Mass casualty/high consequence management
- School health preparedness
- Food safety and biosecurity
- Pandemic flu preparednesss
- Preparedness distant learning offerings through the Heartland Centers Learning Management System (LMS)
HC has the capacity and expertise to design, develop and produce technology mediated preparedness education and training programs/courses (online, CD ROM, DVD) on numerous topics for a variety of audiences. Some programs previously developed and currently in distribution include:
- Public health nursing
- NIMS/ICS
- Risk/crisis communication
- Exercise design and development
- Pandemic influenza immunization
All evaluations are competency-based with individual and organizational impact performance measurements.
